JobKeeper Key Dates

The table below outlines the JobKeeper Key Dates not to be missed for the month of May.

Friday, 8 May 2020                                                                                        Assess your businesses eligibility under the Basic or Alternate Test if you have any employees receiving a gross payment of less than $1,500 per fortnight for fortnight one (30 Mar - 12 Apr) or fortnight two (13 Apr - 26 Apr). This needs to be actioned by this date to ensure the minimum payments are made to each eligible employee claiming JobKeeper https://www.ato.gov.au/general/jobkeeper-payment/in-detail/applying-the-turnover-test/                                                                                                       
  Determine each of your employees eligibility and have them each complete the JobKeeper Employee Nomination Notice https://www.ato.gov.au/Forms/JobKeeper-payment---employee-nomination-notice/ 
  Pay the minimum of $1,500 gross (before tax) to each eligible employee claiming JobKeeper for:
1. Fortnight one (30 Mar - 12 Apr)
2. Fortnight two (13 Apr - 26 Apr)
 
Sunday, 10 May 2020 Pay the minimum of $1,500 gross (before tax) to each eligible employee claiming JobKeeper for fortnight three (27 Apr - 10 May)  
Monday, 11 May 2020 If you have been claiming JobKeeper for employees who were 16 or 17 years old (on the 01/03/2020) you need to consider if they will be eligible from fortnight four onwards. They will only continue to be eligible if they are either:
1. ‘independent’ within the meaning of the Social Security Act 1991 or
2. not a ‘full time student’ within the meaning of the Social Security Act 1991
 
Sunday, 24 May 2020 Pay the minimum of $1,500 gross (before tax) to each eligible employee claiming JobKeeper for fortnight four (11 May - 24 May)  
Sunday, 31 May 2020 You can delay assessing your eligibility until this date only if you are either:
1. Only claiming for an eligible business participant, or
2. All of your employees will receive a gross payment of $1,500 per fortnight for fortnights one, two, three and four regardless of your business eligibility or ineligibilty for JobKeeper
 
  Determine each of your employees eligibility and have them each complete the JobKeeper Employee Nomination Notice https://www.ato.gov.au/Forms/JobKeeper-payment---employee-nomination-notice/ 
  Determine if you have an eligible business participant and if you are not a sole trader have them complete the JobKeeper Nomination Notice for Eligible Business Participants https://www.ato.gov.au/Forms/JobKeeper-nomination-notice-for-eligible-business-participants---excluding-sole-traders/ 
  ENROL - This is the final date you can enrol for JobKeeper if you intend to claim for wages paid for JobKeeper fortnights in April and May  

Please note that you can enrol for JobKeeper and report and claim for April now. Before doing so always ensure the applicable JobKeeper Employee Nomination Notice and/or the JobKeeper Nomination Notice for Eligible Business Participants have been completed.
